Alice Guy Metro Olga Petrova The Vampire 1915

The reputation gained by Olga Petrova throughout tho world as an actress fitted to be placed amongst the foremost picture artists preceeded her appearance in 'My Madonna.' which was the star feature in the American Picture Co.'s high-class programme at the Town Hall last night. The building was literally packed. Olga Petrova is a charming Russian actress, whose cleverness is undoubted, and who received £7,000 to appear in seven photo plays, amongst them 'My Madonna.' The drama is founded on Robert W. Service's poem, and is one of the Metro's best productions to date. The setting is exquisite, and Olga Petrova is supported by a party of very capable artists. The scenes are such as to absorb the greatest interest, the incidents in the concluding Act being _ a very fitting finale to a magnificent picture. A world's subject entitled 'Bought' was also an excellent production, while Billy Ritchie in 'Silk Hose and High Pressure' was a highly amusinc comic subject. 'My Madonna' will be unfolded to a Devonport audience to-night.
